Version 6.04 Released08 July 2004
A new version of Test Nation has been released!
Version 6.04 is backwards compatible with all previous versions and features the following improvements:
- Candidate E-Class Menu View - E-Class candidates can select to view current tests, completed tests or missed tests.
- Candidate Test Review - E-Class Candidates can review past tests anytime by selecting 'Completed Tests' from the drop down menu and choosing a test they have already taken (previously the test had to be reviewed directly after taking the test). Furthermore E-Class administrators can now activate 'Test Review' at any time if they wish i.e. after all students have completed the test.
- E-Class Test Recovery mode - If an E-Class test is interrupted for any reason, the candidate will have the opportunity to continue the Test next time they log in (availability time permitting). However the administrator will be able to see how many times a test was interrupted and decide whether to accept the submission.
- WYSIWYG Multimedia browser - Images, Animations and Sounds can be browsed and changed in real time when in the author mode.
- Improved file upload facility - Does not rely on a component
- Admininistor Control Panel - Allows the administrator to add / delete / edit user accounts, edit / delete all tests, set banned words and receive reports of tests that contain banned words, set welcome message, configure e-mail integration, enable self user registration and allow / disallow authors to create new categories and subjects.
- Test Censoring - Tests containing banned words cannot be accessed from the library section unless permitted by the administrator.
- Test Nation Messenger - If the system is not linked to a mail server (Persits AspEmail Component required). Test Nation Messenger provides a useful internal messaging service - an alternative to e-mail.
- Improved Audio Interface - The improved audio controller has better control over MP3 audio clips.
- Add Group to E-Class - Whole groups can be imported into an E-Class in one go.
- Mark Book Test Summary Menu - Al mark book views summarised on Mark Book Menu Page.
- Improved Page Wizard - The page wizard is now easier to use.
- Video / Resource Support - MPEG Video, Powerpoint Presentations, Word Documents, Excel Spreadsheets, Adobe Acrobat Dicuments, HTML files and any other system registered files can be added to questions as a external resource. This can be any file type that is recognised by the target system. For example MPEG video utilises the registered program for MPEG video, this is by default MS Windows Media Player (on Windows OS).
